Faith
What does anyone really believe? What is faith?
Faith is what lies beneath our actions, our words, our dispositions. What we really believe is manifest finally, by what we do, and what we expect.
Certainly reason, logic, experiences, etc; can and do guide our words and actions and expectations, but ultimately even these must be guided by some underlining assumptions.
I believe God is, and that Jesus is His Son; That the Holy Spirit is our Teacher/Comforter. Therefore I do and expect many things [not everything, nor all perfectly] which reflect that faith.
I believe I am a sinner, God is holy, and that nothing but the perfect life and perfect death of God's Son Jesus can pay my debt, and permit me access to Him.
I believe that all those who do NOT believe this are condemned to Hell. And, it would be irresponsible of me, [unless I did not really believe any of the above] to leave others alone, and not adjure them to repent and believe.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
